Is Nepal in India | Nepal land area

Is Nepal in India, well a lot of people don't know where is Nepal, they know mount Everest but they don't know Nepal?  they know Gautam buddha by they don't know Nepal?

In the world map, you cannot see the country properly you need a couple of minutes to search for a country on the world map.
Is Nepal in india

Most of the people think that Nepal land area is the part of India or the Indian government ruling nation, but that is not true.

Yeah, Indian is trying to take control in Nepal but they haven't succeeded yet

You are still thinking if the country is not in India then it must be part of china well that is also not true.

In this blog you will be going to study about the history of Nepal, where does country exactly located, country before the Indian independence, and why it is not part of India.

how much part India occupy of Nepal land area, what was the modern Nepal.

Why people think Nepal is in India or china

In the world, people easily recognize the country by their faces but people unable to recognize the Nepalese people. because Nepalese people have two faces Aryan and Mongolian face.

if the face is Aryan than it must be Indian and some other country, if the face is Mongolian than it must be Chinese or another Asian country
Is Nepal in india

Is Nepal in India or china Many of the foreigners don't know where the nation is?

If they try to search on the map they think it is one of the Indian states and some say it is part of China?

still, there is a question why it so

By religious factor

all know that the majority religion of India is Hindu and china is Buddhism well Nepal is a mixture of both religions Hindu and Buddhism.

Yeah, the majority religion of Nepal is Hindu but it is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha so it treated equally to Buddhism as Hindu

In this country, if people go to the temple they also go to stupa for a blessing because in this nation culture connects Hindu and Buddhist each other.

As a similar religion, their cultures also have few similarities. If there is a Hindu festival both countries celebrate the festival. If there is a Buddhist festival this also celebrate by both countries

By geographic factor

Nepal is a beautiful country it's located between two gain nation China and India,

country
area
China
9.597 million km²
Nepal
147,516 km²
India
3.287 million km²

you can calculate yourself how small is this country

You can see how small is Nepal in size by looking at this, people think the nation is the part of India or china.

The country is divided into three regions at the north Himalayan region in the middle Hilly region and plain land called the Terai region.

The majority of terai people are Hindu their culture is similar to India, and the majority of the Himalayan region are Buddhists and their culture is similar to China.

in Asia, India is claiming that Gautam Buddha was born in India and they are capturing the Nepal land area and there is a dispute in border and china claiming that mt. Everest is in china.

India and Nepal both country share open border

Between two giant nations, Nepal is unable to identify itself in the world.

History of Nepal (formation)

Many rulers from different origins at different times ruled the sacred land. ancient time history of Nepal is divided into three different rulings
  • Kirat periods
  • Licchavi periods
  • Malla periods

Kirat ruling

first one was Kirat period, before the Kirat period there were Gopal people with the cow heard and Maheshpal people with buffalo heard have they are stated in Nepal

However, the Gopal dynasty and the Maheshpal dynasty are not taken as a proven ancient ruler of the nation.

Kirat people start living in Nepal almost 2500 years ago, it is said they came from mid-Asia and India Himalaya's first king of Kirat dynasty was Yalamber.

Licchavi ruling

Then Licchavi period started from 400 year AD then 750 year AD Licchavi king ruled in Kathmandu the current capital of Nepal

According to Kautilya economic and travel dairy of Chinese traveler, wu hang shy. some brave warrior ran away from Vaishali of India to replace the Kiratis and started their region.

Mandev was the first king of the Licchavi dynasty, Anshu Verma, Jaya Devi is the famous king who brought many great reforms in Nepal.

Malla ruling

And the Malla period golden era of Nepalese ancient history Malla dynasty was the ruling dynasty of Nepal from 1201 AD to 1769 AD the Malla means wrestling in Sanskrit.

The first of the  Malla king came to power in Kathmandu valley around 1200 AD the Malla period was a golden one that stretches over 600-year AD. Though it was prepared with fighting over the valuable trade route.

After the Malla dynasty, king, Prithvi Narayan Shah from Gorkha conquer the valley 1768 AD and began the unification of the country

that gave the face of modern great Nepal currently nation has become federal democratic.

Nepal before the east India company

is Nepal in India Before Prithvi Narayan shah initiated his unification campaign

In 1774 what we call today Nepal was roughly about 53 petty different states his knowledge of history and mythological stories.

Before unification of Nepal

Inspired him to the unification campaign all the people countrymen and brave soldiers supported him without whom he would not succeed.

This campaign seeing these petty states  Prithvi Narayan shah's desire to reunify them into a single kingdom which was torn apart into 53 states during the time of the last rulers of the Licchavi period to the far west.

unification of great Nepal

There was Bayes Rajya (22 states) and to the midwest was Chaubisi Rajya (24  states) to the center was Kantipur Patan and Bhaktapur

In the east side part of Chaubese Rajya was  Makwanpur Chaudandi and Vijayapur Gorkha.

Prithvi Narayan shah started the unification campaign from the state  Prithvi Narayan shah ascended the throne of Gorkha on the third of April  1743 he unified about half the 24 states.

The entire  Kathmandu valley around the present capital Kathmandu and additional states further east before dying on 1775  annexation.

The rest of the twenty-four state was under his son Pratap Singh Shah and grandson Rana Bhadur shah.

22 states was a former group of petty kingdom centered in the Karnali-Bheri river basin of  Modern Nepal.

The states were sovereign but intermittently allied among themselves until annexed during the unification of modern Nepal.

After the unification

From 1744 to 1810 AD the nation's founder Prithvi Narayan shah did not live to see this but his son and grandson annexed the entire collection by the end of the eighteenth century.

Prithvi Narayan shah unified small states and how his son and grandson continued his campaign to form a present  Nepal.

Here Nepal's territory but was stripped off by British east India company signing Sugauli treaty

Why Nepal is not part of India

When it comes to the history of Nepal, the country was never ruled by the British or any other country.

At one time, the shah rulers in the nation went on war with the British, but this was before the establishment of British raj in India. So, it had less impact on the politics of Nepal.

Later, the  British conquest of India in the nineteenth century posed a serious threat to Nepal,

they expected to be another victim and with no alternative left, they sought an accommodation with the British to preserve its independence.

This was accomplished by Rana family rulers after 1860, on terms that were mutually acceptable.

Under this alliance, Kathmandu permitted recruitment of Nepalese for the Gurkha units in the British and Indian army, and also accepted  British guidance on foreign policy.

In exchange, the British guaranteed the Rana authorities of Nepal against both foreign and domestic enemies and allowed it's virtual autonomy in domestic affairs.

And this mutually beneficial stance was further developed, and lead to the formation of the Nepal, Britain treaty of 1923.

The first treaty between  Nepal and Britain to be recorded in the league of nations.

The treaty made clear the international status of Nepal, the treaty declared the country as an independent, and sovereign nation.

So, historically Nepal became an independent nation before the formation of India, which in contrast, was done by the merging of different princely states, which were under the British at that time.

As a landlocked country, which shares borders with both India and China, even after 1947,

Nepal was careful in maintaining a balanced relationship with both India, as well as China, in order to eliminate any minute chance of annexation by either of these countries.

India occupy the Nepal land area

The most unfair and discriminatory results of Anglo Nepal war and it was Sugauli treaty

The Treaty of Sugauli was signed between the Government of Nepal and the East India Company in 1815, after the Anglo-Nepal War,

The Treaty of Peace and Friendship was popularized as the Treaty of Sugauli 1815

Lieutenant Colonel P. Bradshaw on behalf of the East India Company on 2 December 1815 by Gajaraj Misha and Chandrasekhar Upadhyay on behalf of the Government of Nepal.

The terms of the treaty were as follows

The treaty was for many things but we are going to talk about occupy land only.

The King of Nepal would waive all claims that were the subject of discussion between the two states before the war and would accept the company's authority for the sovereignty of those lands

The king of Nepal will implement the East India Company in all previously mentioned territories
  • first part between Kali and Rapti river
  • The second part of the lowland between Rapti and Gandaki except Butwal
  • The entire area of the lowland area between Gandaki and Koshi which has the right of East India Company
  • The fourth part of the lowlands between the Mechi to the Teesta River
In fact, this Treaty of Sugauli was in favor of the East India Company in Nepal and it suffered a great loss of its territory.

The Nepalese were very dissatisfied with this treaty, so later an agreement was reached on 8 December 1816

full detail of Sugauli treaty

According to which Nepal land area received the Terai the entire area of the lowland between.
  •  No.1 Rapti and Gandaki
  •  No. 2 Gandaki and Koshi

later the remaining part of Western terai Banky Bardia Kailai and Kanchanpur were annexed to Nepal at the time of  Jung Bahadur Rana after helping the  British to demolish the revolt of 1860  in India

The same thing happen in hong kong When British left hong kong they handed over to China.

But in the case of Nepal are unable to take back their own land. India occupy many Nepal land area.

Present land dispute between India and Nepal

Border dispute means a dispute between two nations on the south side of the country, we can see more encroachment is Nepal in India.

after the independence of India in 1947, they started to increase border territory.

Encroachment increase in Dashgaha (10 yard) due to the increase of population in India deforestation happen in Nepal jungle or bush by Indian

Even the border pillar is also not found.

Country become democracy lately when democracy established in 2007 BS in Nepal

Then the encroachment started to increase in the area of Kalapana, Limpiyadhura, and Susta
and the Indian people increased encroachment by deforestation the Nepalese jungle

There are many other border areas India has captured of the Nepal land area.

Thing make Nepal different from India

There are many things that make Nepal different from India since both countries have the same religion majority but there are little thing that makes different.

The country is known as the Himalayan nation and the highest peak in the world on the north side of Nepal there is a wall of the mountain.

Country have different flag then the world and unique Nepal flag with two triangle it represent Nepal in the world.

Is Nepal in India

The country has its own culture and the world is admired by the Nepalese culture and people are very friendly compared to others.

Though they share an open border but Nepal has its own government, currency, law, rule, and regulation.

Though these are the few differences there are still a lot of things that make a difference between the two countries.

What thing represent Nepal in the world

There are many things that represent the Nepal some of them are as follow
  • mt.everest world highest peak
  • Lumbini birthplace of Gautam buddha
  • wall of mountain nation eight highest peak
  • sherpa Himalayan citizen
  • Nepalese culture and cuisine
  • Janaki temple birthplaces of Sita Mata
  • Kathmandu temple ancient heritage site
  • National park one horn rhino
  • world unique flag and its shape

Water resources in nepal | How nepal using water

water resources in nepal
Water resources in Nepal

Water resources in Nepal
Water is indispensable for life. However, 97.5% of all H2O on Earth is salt liquid, with only the remaining 2.5% remaining as freshwater.

About 70% of the fresh liquid available on the planet is frozen in the icecaps of Antarctica and Greenland.

There is 0.7% of the total water resources available worldwide for direct human use. It is liquid found in lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and shallow underground

sources, which can be exploited at a cheaper cost. This is also the only amount It is regularly renewed by rain and snowfall and is therefore available permanently.

The use of freshwater is mainly used for domestic use, liquid supply, agriculture, and industries.

Around 67% of water is used in irrigation in the production of food grains worldwide.

The development of Nepal's water resources can generate hydropower, store water for irrigation, and supply for domestic and industrial uses.

The bodies of H2O are considered as the major strategic natural resources here, with the potential to act as a catalyst for the all-round development and economic development of the country.

There are about 6000 rivers in the country. 74% of this is within the country,
Still, there is a question water resources in Nepal

Status of water resources in Nepal

They originate in the Himalayas and carry the flow of ice with significant discharge even in the dry season. These rivers are perennially and have huge potential as a source of irrigation and hydropower plant.

Rivers originate in the Midlands or Mahabharata range
And are fed by rainfall as well as groundwater regeneration (including springs). In
Rivers are also perennial but are usually characterized by wide seasonal fluctuations.

Apart from these large and medium river systems, the Terai has a large number of small rivers mostly originating in the Siwalik Range.

 These are rivers
Seasonal with small flows during the dry season, making them unsuitable for rainy irrigation or hydropower generation without surface storage.

Water resources in Nepal about 80% of the total flow occurs during the five months (June - October) and the remaining months. It can generalize that the smaller size.

The catchment area of the river is the limit for the extensive flow of stream.

Physical water in Nepal

Although the nation is near the northern boundary of the Tropics, it has a very wide climate ranging from the tropical heat of summer and the freezing cold of the lowland to the arid continental and alpine climate through the middle and northern mountain sections.

Due to the exceptionally rugged terrain, there is a considerable difference in the amount of rainfall and the temperature range.
water resources in nepal Nepal glacial
water in form of

Water resources in Nepal
There are two rainy seasons in the country More than two heads last from June to September when the southwest monsoon brings about 80% of the total rainfall.

Others, which account for 20% of the total annual rainfall, occur during winter
Can be affected by tail of cyclones originating in Nepal

The Indian Ocean and which reaches the country through the Bay of Bengal. They can give several days of heavy rain.

These dynamic and statistical features of both weather and terrain are reflected in hydrology.

Features such as river flow, channel size, gradient, and sediment load are controlled by rainfall intensity, topography, and rock types.

On this basis, the nation river is classified into two group perennial rivers of mountains and seasonal rivers of Terai.

Hydrological zone

There is a lot of variation in climate and terrain characteristics in Nepal,
All four major river systems precede the rise of the main Himalayan ranges and have kept place with the uplift so that they now cut through the ranges in deep valleys.

In the mountain and midland zones, geology tends to promote rapid run-way, resulting in dense streams flowing into small, large rivers.

in the Siwalik hills, there are plenty number of groundwater storage, geology promotes on the Terai margin and the inner Terai.
Water resources in Nepal

Snowmelt's contribution to total run-off is mainly from March to July. In catchments below 3000 m, there is no significant contribution from ice.

Antecedent river

The river valleys in the high Himalayan ranges are narrow and deep. Exceptions are in glacial areas where they are mostly U-shaped; Waterfalls, cascades, and rapids are very common; And the landscape is dotted with many glacial lakes and pools. The erosion power of the river is high.

Mahabharata Rivers:

The rivers originating from the northern face of the Mahabharata flow mostly north-south; The slope is high, and the valleys are deep and narrow.

However, in the southern face, they mostly have an east-west flow parallel to the Churia hills and eventually cut off at some point to exit.

The behavior of such rivers is the same as that of the earlier rivers. In the Terai, the northern side is flat, but when reaching the Indo-Nepal border narrow and deep.

Churia Hill Rivers:

The rivers of the northern face join the Mahabharata rivers and are straight and straight. But, on the southern face they rarely follow the east-west course, but instead are directly fringed. The river valleys are comparatively flat.

Terai Rivers:

Terai rivers are mostly originated from the spring line. They follow a fairly straight path and join the Indo-Nepal border. The river valleys are comparatively deep.
The river forms a narrow valley in hard rock.

In the eastern Terai all, the rivers bring a huge amount of sand and stone during floods which cover the many areas. In the next flood, the rivers take a different route, and flooding begins.

Snow and glaciers

water resources in Nepal
Hydrological reactions of snow-capped and snow-capped areas are different from other regions. About 23% of the total area of the country? is above 5000 meters of the permanent snow line.
water resources in nepal
Nepal glacial

Currently, about 3.6% of the total area of the country is covered by glaciers.
About 10% of the total rainfall in the nation falls as snow (UNEP, 2001).

A study on glaciers in the Nepal Himalaya (Mol. P. et al. 2001) divided the area from east to west into four major river valleys.

It detected 3,252 glaciers with a coverage area of  5,323 sq km?? and an estimated ice reserve of 481 km3.

All lakes at an altitude of more than 3,500 are considered a glacial lake.

Nepal's water resources summary

Water resources in Nepal
The available surface liquid in the country is estimated at about 225 billion m3 per year, which is equivalent to an average flow of 7,125 m3 / s (WECS, 2003).

The total drainage area of these rivers is around 194,471 km2, of which 76% is located within the nation.

The availability of water resources varies greatly in terms of time and place.
Very different. For the environmental requirements, it is the demand for domestic, industrial, irrigation, hydropower generation, etc.

It does not necessarily coincide temporally and/or spatially with available canal supplies.

Glaciers are very important features in the high Himalayan region of Nepal that maintain liquid availability in the region.

This is especially during lean flow seasons when melt-ice contributions are important for supporting human activities and ecosystem services in both these areas and below.

The contribution of glaciers to the total flow of the basins in which they are located varies widely, from about 30% in the old Gandaki basin to about 2% in the Lacchu Khola basin.

How does Nepal use water resources?

H20 is important for every living thing. In Nepal  Water resources are in the form of  Glaciers, rivers, lakes, ponds,  waterfalls are important natural landscapes.

The importance of water resources in Nepal can be presented in the following points
water resources in nepal
Uses of water

Irrigation

Irrigation is any means used  by humans to bring water to the land it  can be as simple as using a garden house a flower or to grow a crop. most of the people are engaged in agriculture.

In Nepal, few people also engaged in fish farming.

Tourism industry

Water resources are also a major attraction for tourists. People who love boating and rafting. we all know the nation is plenty of liquid resources like lakes, rivers, ponds, etc.

Industry

Industry utilizes water to make various products. They used to make objects soft and to cool heat objects. some of industry are doing drinking-based business.

 Health

You can make the environment clean and public health success. It plays an effective role in building the country.

Daily bases

Aqua is used on a daily bases like to drink, bathing, to wash, etc.

Electricity

Nepal is producing electricity till now it is the expected country producing 1850MW. And many hydropower plant are under construction.

Future of water resources in Nepal

Nation’s great hidden treasure that is water.  On the one hand, Nepal is a country with nature, mountains, exotic landscapes, and an impressive gastronomy. It’s no secret that its tourism potential is huge.

And what can be done with all this natural wealth? Well...  Studies conducted by the Nepalese government show that the nation's abundant resources can produce huge amounts of hydroelectric power at a very low cost.
water resources in nepal
Maybe in future

If the country regains stability, investors will line up to finance and develop this kind of project.

And the potential doesn’t end there... Nepal’s new closeness to China could make Chinese money rush into the country to finance large hydroelectric projects.

Will the new government be able to leave its ideological inclinations behind and bet on stability, openness, and foreign investment? Only time will tell.

conclusion

Yeah, country is rich in water sources many hydropower plants are under construction.

According to the present scenario, What do you think is this government can make investors to invest in the power plant or not?

Is Nepal a poor country | what make nepal poor

is nepal a poor country
is nepal a poor country

Is Nepal a poor country? in view of government Yes Nepal is a poor country.

According to the calendar, we are 56/57 year ahead than the world but in terms of development, we are centuries behind

241 years back when America was not free before that we had already built Krishna mandir of Patan and Hanuman Dhoka of Basantapur

The country is the world's second-richest country in water resources, 49th in the world in natural resources, 48th in the world in terms of population, Nation has many natural resources.

But why this nation is today in the list of 147th least developed country in the world.

we are going to look at many reasons why the country is under a developing nation.

for ethnic culture and religious perspective, there is a lot we can contribute to the world.

Here we going to discuss step by step why Nepal a poor country.

Geographical structure

Himalayas landlocked country lies between India and China south of Tibet. Area with 147516km²   850 km from east to west and north to south 156 km.

Nation is divided into three Geographic sub-regions a mountainous northern border, region a central hilly area and the Terai a fertile plain land

One-third area is covered by hilly and mountain region which difficult to develop

Due to its geographical structure many areas of the hilly and mountain region there are no proper roads.

Due to bad infrastructure accident chance goes high, And automatically in that area, everything will be expensive which poor people cannot afford.

the government has started different programs to reduce poverty has been promoting various organizations working in rural areas.

Most of the government programs are targeted to underprivileged areas and communities.

Although these government initiatives have provided relief to targeted communities. It is clear that this does not provide a permanent solution to poverty and inequality

The more thought-provoking thing is that districts like BARA and PARSA have a good per-capita labor productivity but yet they score very low in terms of different indicators of poverty so Nepal a poor country

literacy rate in Nepal

The national literacy rate for 2018 was 67.91%, and 8.28% increase from 2011. national literacy has increase but it is not enough.

Education is right to everyone. But in the context of Nepal, not everyone is getting a chance. Some area of Himalayan region

Nepalese education system is coming under criticism of the parts.

Under this mission, the Ministry says that they will not only ensure that all primary school children will be enrolled but also, make the 4 million illiterate Nepal literate
within 2 years.

It is a matter of shame for the nation and that we have people who are illiterate the reason that our education is poor is management committees employ their own relatives' teachers whether they are qualified or not those are the people we are investing in then the curriculum.

The students are demanding a better quality of education and better services like toilets which have been constructed and not accessible to them.

Not good the books are not of good quality teachers are mediocre and even the examination system is not organized well if he managed these four elements then our problems will be solved

unemployment Nepal

According to a survey of 2018/19 nation has 11.4% unemployment. The rate of unemployment in the nation has increased from 3 to 3.2 percent from 2015-2016.

Due to the lack of job many people are forced to go abroad for employment and a possible settlement

I feel very bad to have other countries to provide us with foreign employment, why the Nepal government cannot provide the same job in the nation.

Due to the nepotism right person avoiding and the job was given to relative and corrupt people only, and the result will be bad.

Having a certificate is not enough you need to have a connection.

Government of Nepal

After the end of monarchy democracy in the context of Nepal presently is somehow not fine because in the present scenario the total population of the nation half of the population is don't know to whom choose this would elect and there are so many representatives that they are not able to stand.

Nation is poor because we could not ensure political stability in 27 years we have changed our governments for 25 times.

Corporations are unable to invest in Nepal because of government policy and their parties.

In a democracy when people are unaware of whom they should select this thing is happening In this nation.

Instead of the rule of law, we are ruled by law those who have access to power are free to do anything without any reason anyone can organize political shutdown and attack on personal freedom.

we could not ensure the property rights of the citizen's nobody knows when the individual property is claimed by political parties.

Corruption is common people those who do corruption law are unable to catch them how could the nation can develop so Nepal a poor country.

We are one of the best tourist destinations. out of 10, we have 7 highest peaks of the world.

Just 40 year back countries like China, India, Malaysia, Korea, and Taiwan were economically backward but in a short span of time, they are on the way to achieve prosperity.

During the second world war japan and Europe were totally collapsed but how could they manage to become the richest country today?

They became rich because they could ensure basic requirements that are essential for economic development,

they ensure political stability and accountable government,

They ensured the rule of law which helped to foster good governance minimize corruption and impunity

they eased complex beurocracy and ensured property rights they viewed profit and business positively.
